North Bihar, India is rich in floodplain wetlands which are locally called chaurs. The region is known for its rich aquatic biodiversity, e.g. fishes, molluscs, zooplankton, birds, and reptiles. The present study was carried out during 2005-2007 under the auspices of the Zoological Survey of India, Gangetic Plains Regional Centre and charts the biodiversity in this region.
