Provides species accounts with facing colour plates (by Gabrielle Ellison) of more than one hundred birds found in Zambia but which do not appear in South African field guides. In addition, there is a section giving species accounts of a few species recently added to the Zambian list or which may soon be removed from the Southern African list. The final section gives an annotated checklist of all Zambian birds.
