Contains a taxonomic revision of Cornaceae for Malesia, i.e., the area covering the countries Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, The Philippines, East Timor, and Papua New Guinea. In Malesia there are two native genera. The largest genus Alangium, with 4 sections, comprises 36 species, the genus Mastixia (Cornaceae) with 10 species has been formerly treated in Flora Malesiana.

The introductory part contains a chapter on wood anatomy (by P. Baas). The genus, section, and species treatments comprise keys, references, synonyms, typifications. descriptions, distributions, notes on habitat & ecology, and miscellaneous notes.
