About this book

Language: Spanish

The flora of Andalusia, Spain, is exceptionally rich and diverse. In Flores Silvestres de Andalucía the authors analyze some of the physical, historical, and evolutionary circumstances that are responsible for such a unique biological wealth. Representatives from almost all families are treated, supported by a photo. As such, nearly 500 species have been selected, based on rarity, ecological significance, biogeographical value, medicinal interest, hazard or threat, etc. The native plants of Andalusia get special attention in this book, but plants common to the fields, forests, mountains and the Iberian subdeserts of the southern region are also covered.
