About this book

Language: French

Today in France, more than 350 trees are earmarked as natural monuments and the author here presents 55 of them in amazing portraits that reveal the human stories intertwined with those venerable trees. Photographs illustrate each portrait so as to better visualize the passing of time and the majestic dimensions, the creases in the bark, and the branches which form an invitation to come to roost. Overlaid on these are pen drawings, with which the illustrator Titwane brings back stories in the shade of these magnificent trees.
