About this book

The Nene Valley in Cambridgeshire has a long history of sand and gravel extraction, but details studies of Pleistocene deposits here have been few. This guide was written to accompany a QRA Short Field Meeting in September 2003, which provided an opportunity to examine and discuss a wide variety of Quaternary deposits, ranging from the pre-Anglian Milton Formation to the archaeology of the middle Nene Valley. This Field Guide, although not available for the meeting, reflects that variety and includes thematic articles, descriptions of sites visited and descriptions of relevant sites not visited that are not available in the open literature.
