A superb computer dictionary which lists the scientific and common names of the birds of the world. The CD-ROM contains all of the scientific names according to the seven international standard taxonomies: Peters Morony, Bock and Farrand; Wolters; Sibley and Monroe; and Clements. It translates automatically between taxonomies, defines species limits, explains nomenclature discrepancies, contains global lists of English, Italian, German and French common names, contains many alternative English common names, browses all scientific names and common names in taxonomic sequence or alphabetical order, and defines faunal region and sorts species according to the region.
