"Our intention has been to make colour pictures of all treated species. With the exception of a few species and varieties we have been able to fulfil our intentions. Scientific names follow the same general statements as presented in Vol. 1, but a considerable amount of nomenclatural novelties are presented in the Appendix. Maps of all species (not varieties) are produced and an index to synonyms is also given."
