About this book

Nymphalidae Part 3 covers subfamily Limenitidinae, tribe Neptini.

From the foreword:
"The second edition of Nymphalidae part III comes out exactly eleven years after the first one. In the case of other volumes of the series Guide to the Butterflies of the Palearctic Region, such as Nymphalidae part I, Lycaenidae part II and Pieridae part I, the second editions have required a substantial revision of the systematics of those groups, based on many insightful studies that had been published after the first editions.

On the contrary, in the last decade, the systematics of the Neptini butterflies have not much been investigated and has undergone very little modifications. Among the few new contributions, the most significant are an exhaustive revision of the Neptis pryeri species-group by Fukuda, H. & Minotani (2017) and some interesting new findings about Chinese and Himalayan Neptis taxa by Lang & Wang (2010), Lang (2012) and Katayama (2014)"
