About this book

Places the converging disciplines of wildlife management and captive management in the context of the developing field of population (and habitat) viability analysis, or PVA. Management for survival and recovery of captive and wild species requires, according to this volume, three processes: defining management objectives and concerns; monitoring and analysing population trends; and, formulating and implementing management actions. This volume addresses all three processes, focusing primarily on specific methods for demographic and genetic analyses and management.
