About this book

Sustainable Global Outsourcing begins with the premise that the $450 billion per-annum market for outsourcing services will continue to grow and that organizations will increasingly expect providers to live up to international standards for social and environmental responsibility. By examining how outsourcers have adopted emerging sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative and ISO 26000, the authors create a method that identifies sustainable outsourcing leaders, aspirants and laggards.

Through a series of case studies and surveys, the authors examine current sustainability trends in outsourcing and extrapolate to recommend how providers should prepare for increasing buyer demands in this area. The final chapters present a model where buyers and providers can work to build a very successful outsourcing relationship through collaborative sustainability projects, while creating social and environmental benefits.
