About this book

The Central Indian Landscape consists of the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. This part of India is home to more than 500 bird species including resident and migratory birds. All the birds mentioned in this book are resident species that can be observed throughout the year in this region. They all belong to IUCN's "least concern" category. Nevertheless, many of the most common birds have dwindled in numbers over the years, for instance, the house sparrow and house crow which have always been associated with human beings.
