Memoirs of a well-known Kazakhstan ornithologist comprise more than 70 years and represent a mixture of memoirs and documentary: based on the diaries of the author. They contain many specific dates of the events, detailed descriptions of expedition routes along with the travel impressions from them. Based on the personal diaries, the author, as the title suggests, describes not only bird records and his own travel impression, but also gives his own interpretation to the portraits of many people (not only ornithologists), whom he had a chance to meet. This second half of the memoir, Volume 2: On the Roads to the Restoration of Capitalism (1992-2014), shows how the life of an ordinary ornithologist changed in the last two decades. Considerable part of it is given to the description of foreign trips, which is something new, absent in the first part (1941-1991).

Воспоминания известного казахстанского орнитолога, охватывающие более чем 70-лет- ний период времени, представляют собой смесь мемуарного жанра с документальным: написанные на основе дневниковых записей автора, они содержат многие точные даты событий, подробные описания маршрутов экспедиций и впечатлений от увиденного. Взяв за основу личные дневники, автор в соответствии с названием книги описывает не только встречи с птицами и свои путевые впечатления, но и даёт зарисовки многих людей, с которыми ему доводилось встречаться. Публикуемая вторая половина этих воспоминаний показывает, как менялась жизнь рядового орнитолога за последние два десятилетия. Значительное место в ней занимает описание зарубежных поездок - того нового, чего не было в первой части (1941-1991).
