As the name suggests Alaska Northwest Books is all about Alaska. The state has vast open spaces, high mountains, coastal rainforest, and teems with wildlife.
Alaska Northwest Books’ Guide to the Birds of Alaska, now in its sixth edition, has been a must have for Alaskan birders for more than 30 years. And half the royalties go to Alaska Audubon, to help bird conservation in the state.
Guides to bears, fish, mushrooms, the seashore, and mammals are among other shorter field guides. While Alaska’s Accessible Wilderness: A Traveller’s Guide to Alaska State Parks focusses on some of the state’s wildest and most alluring places.
