The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI) has been at the forefront of British and Irish botany and plant conservation for 180 years.
Founded as the Botanical Society of London in botanical science’s early days, and for many years known as the Botanical Society of the British Isles, the BSBI is the largest organisation devoted to botany in Britain and Ireland. The BSBI has a long history of producing influential publications on British and Irish vascular plants inclduing the authoritative BSBI Handbooks, Hybrid Flora of the British Isles, and Threatened Plants in Britain and Ireland.
