Nederlandse Vereniging voor Libellenstudie

The Nederlandse Vereniging voor Libellenstudie/Dutch Society for Dragonfly Studies is dedicated to studying Dutch and Flemish dragonflies and damselflies.

The society publishes the journal Brachytron, chiefly on Dutch and European dragonflies and damselflies. Two important journal supplements are the Field Guide to the Dragonflies of New Guinea, and the Field Guide to the Damselflies of New Guinea. Nine hundred of the field guides have been given to universities in New Guinea, which the society hopes will “become dog-eared with use”.

The Field Guide to the Damselflies of New Guinea won the 2013 Whitley Award for contributions to Australasian zoology from the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales.
