The Pürckhauer gouge auger set is ideal for sampling hard soil layers, and is suitable for medium and heavy soils. Designed according to Dr. Pürckhauer's principle, this gouge auger set is made of non-toxic, high tensile strength steel, ensuring sturdiness and efficiency while causing minimal disturbance to the sample core.

This auger can be hammered, but only with the included simplex sledgehammers. The drilling depth is 1 metre and the groove width is 18 millimetres inner diameter.

The set features a pressed steel impact head and rubber-coated rotary handles that also serve as groove cleaners.
