This monograph contains a comprehensive analysis of the steppe vegetation of the southern face of the Altai-Sayan mountain region of Tuva and Southeast Altai, Russia. The regularities of vegetation distribution in the various sectors of the mountain are subject of detailed study and reveal the differentiation in latitude and altitude belt of steppe vegetation. In the classification of steppe communities an approach is adopted based on the composition of coenofloras and their ecological, geographic, floristic and ecobiomorphological structure. For the first time, a hierarchical spatial structure of mountain-steppe ecosystems is disclosed, that shows the role and usefulness of a systematic methodology to analyze the simulation of materials and mapping of an ecosystem. Some theoretical aspects of the creation of protected areas are considered and a systematization of rare steppe phytocenoses and their characteristics is presented.

В монографии дан разносторонний анализ степной растительности южного фаса Алтае-Саянской горной области на примере Тувы и Юго-Восточного Алтая. Выявлены закономерности распределения растительности в различных секторах гор ной области с детальным исследованием широтной и высотно-поясной дифференциации степной растительности. При классификации степных сообществ принят флороценогенетический подход, опирающийся на состав ценофлор, на его экологическую, географическую, флористическую и экобиоморфологическую структуру. Впервые раскрыта иерархическая пространственная структура горно-степных экосистем, показана роль системной методологии в анализе материалов моделирования и картографирования экосистем. Рассмотрены некоторые теоретические аспекты создания особо охраняемых природных территорий, приведена систематизация редких степных фитоценозов и их характеристики.
