The first monograph on these giant Curculionids from New-Guinea with the description of many new species. The plates are marvellous, they have been made on a computer to simulate the printing of fluorescent colours.

Thierry Porion est un entomologiste particulièrement soigneux et attentif, curieux et amoureux de belles choses. On lui doit deux monographies absolument splendides sur les Fulgores. Ici il nous présente une éblouissante monographie du genre Eupholus, ces splendides Curculionides géants de la Nouvelle-Guinée. Toutes les espèces et de très nombreuses variétés et espèces nouvelles sont illustrées en couleurs.

L'éditeur a fait du mieux qu'il pouvait pour rendre leur vraies couleurs aux insectes, chose quasi impossible avec l'impression quadrichromique car les couleurs fluorescentes ne sont pas représentées. Toutefois, utilisant toutes les techniques possibles, en travaillant une à une les couches de couleurs, le résultat est particulièrement réussi.
