About this book
Chemical biology is the use of chemical methods to investigate biological systems. This can include the synthesis of molecules similar to natural molecules, or creating small chemical changes to natural molecules. Another technique is to attach a chemical group to a natural molecule to either act as a marker, or to create chemical changes under specific conditions. Using these techniques scientists are probing the nature of biochemical molecules and systems.
This text focuses on the methods for obtaining modified and native nucleic acids, and their biological applications.
