About this book

In The Clothed Ape, the author looks at all the hypotheses and theories that have so far been suggested regarding the different variables that play a part in human evolution: from why we are bipedal to the menopause, via the progressive reduction in size of the canine teeth, sexual dimorphism, penis size, sperm competition, the secrecy of women’s ovulation and their constant willingness for sex, not to mention the possible causes of the female orgasm or of our reproductive strategies. In addition there is a brief analysis of the constant conflicts that humans have been involved in and of the increasing needs for energy that our species have experienced. The book ends with a conclusion in which the author sets out his own personal views, a hypothesis in which bipedalism, the reduction in size of the canine teeth and the size of the penis, as well as other special points relating to females, prove to be extremely important.
