About this book

The late Professor Dr. John Corner, distinguished Cambridge professor, exemplary tropical botanist and insightful explorer, has been intimately associated with the story of Mt. Kinabalu and the establishment of Kinabalu Park as a totally protected area. He led with distinction the two important royal Society Expeditions in 1961 and 1964 that unveiled secrets of the then virtually unknown eastern side of Kinabalu.

The Kotal Route Sketches contains a collection of sketches drawn by him during the second expedition which is an important addition to the literature on Kinabalu.
