Review of contemporary techniques of vegetation mapping which also provides a snapshot of their applications. Based on material presented at a conference of the same name convened by the Biogeography Research Group, the contributions deal with ground, air and space-based techniques of vegetation mapping applied to a range of spatial scales, with applications concerned with monitoring, inventory and conservation, and with issues of error and scale charge.
