About this book

Language: German

The last identification key for the bugs of Germany comes from E. Wagner and is over 50 years old. It is, therefore, high time to bring together our current knowledge.

Although they can be found more or less everywhere, the identification of bugs is not always easy. This book is intended to help the naturalist to identify adult animals of this formidable insect group down to genus level. Dichotomous keys, complemented by a variety of explanatory line drawings and 500 coloured live macro shots quickly lead to a result.

Anyone who wants to determine beyond the species should refer to the forthcoming plates volume, Die Wanzen Deutschlands, Teil 2, where all 850 species occurring in Germany are shown graphically with all relevant characteristics, supplemented by species profiles with information on biology, ecology and conservation status, as well as distribution maps.
