About this book

Language: Bilingual in English and Chinese

From the preface:

"Zhejiang Province in China is a warm and scenic area with a long history. It is famous for not only sightseeing and relaxation, but also natural science. Mesozoic terrestrial deposits are widely distributed in Zhejiang Province. A number of dinosaur and bird fossils have been unearthed from here recently. The drastic economic development in the last 20 years has led to the discovery of dinosaur bones and eggs during constructions of highways and express trains. In addition to the economy, academic research has contributed to these great discoveries of dinosaurs in Zhejiang. Now, Zhejiang Province, especially in Tiantai Basin and Dongyang City in Jinqu Basin, has yielded a lot of dinosaurs, pterosaurs and dinosaur eggs (clutches).

One author of this book, Dr. Jin, has spent one year in Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum (Japan) to learn museumology. After this experience, he focused on excavating and researching dinosaur eggs from many localities in Zhejiang. His effort and indefatigable research mind during several years made it possible to complete his Ph.D. at Toyama University, Japan. This has been followed by publication of this book, Dinosaurs Nurturing in Zhejiang: Dinosaur Eggs of Zhejiang Province. This book depicts how to study and categorize dinosaur eggs, and includes academic descriptions of them. In addition, he discusses the relationship between dinosaur body fossils and eggs. This book will find use not only as an academic reference for Zhejiang dinosaurs, but also as a popular book on dinosaurs. The beautiful photographs and diagrams in this book will surely attract general readers, not just palaeontologists."
