About this product

This fascinating and haunting wildlife programme is narrated by Virginia McKenna and centres on the West of Scotland not far from the Isle of Mull. This is the last stronghold of the wild sea otter in Britain, made famous by Gavin Maxwell and his highly acclaimed book Ring of Bright Water. The programme features unique archive footage which shows Gavin Maxwell playing with the otters in the streams that run close by Camusfearna, as well as the work being done today by Paul and Grace Yoxon who care for injured and sick otters at a facility not far from Camusfearna. Their work is funded through the International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) which they set up in 1993. The magic of Maxwell and Camusfearna is being kept alive for the future. The film is introduced by Virginia McKenna star of Ring of Bright Water, and founder of the Born Free Foundation with Bill Travers.
