The Schwegler 3FF Bat Box is spacious enough to be used as a summer roost or nursery site and is open at the bottom, allowing droppings to fall out meaning the box is self-cleaning. The entrance has been designed to prevent excessive light and draughts, whilst still allowing pregnant animals to access the box safely. The 3FF is manufactured using long lasting Woodcrete making this box ideal for long term mitigation projects. The interior provides ample roosting area with additional hanging space for species that tend to roost in caves. The spacious design also provides the inhabitants with a range of temperatures allowing individuals to move accordingly to achieve a favourable interior climate. 

If inspections are necesssary the 3FF is available with an additional inspection hatch located on the side of the box. This allows for inspections without the need to remove the front panel, minimising disturbance to occupants. 

The 3FF bat box is provided with a hanger and aluminium nail and should be sited in trees and is best positioned at a height of between 3 to 6 metres. Bat boxes should ideally be sited in open sunny positions. Please note that once bats have inhabited a roost site they may only be disturbed by licensed bat workers.
