The Twenty-first Annual Conference of the European Cetacean Society was held at The Kursaal Conference Hall, Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain between 23rd and 25th April 2007. It was attended by 470 persons from 32 countries.

The theme this year was "Integrating Science and Management for Marine Mammal Conservation", and speakers invited to give keynote addresses to this theme included: "The Bay of Biscay: from Whaling to Whalewatching" by Santiago Lens, "Strategies for Conservation of Marine Top Predators" by Mark Tasker, and "Science for Management of Cetacean Populations" by Arne Bjørge In addition to these, there were 58 other talks and 189 posters.

This is the third Conference Proceedings presented in CD-ROM format. Summaries are provided electronically as a book of abstracts, together with more than ninety extended contributions in the form of PowerPoint presentations or PDF files.  For the latter, contributions have been arranged alphabetically. For quick reference to the subject matter of each file, the abstract book should be consulted using its index. All abstracts that form the abstract book were subject to a review process and represent all those submissions that were accepted for the conference. No editing of extended summaries has taken place. For the benefit of contributors to future electronic Proceedings, instructions are given at the back of this volume.
