This book offers a look at the diurnal and nocturnal butterflies and moths of Argentina, that, over time, diversified into groups adopting different forms and lifestyles. Through extensive research, observation and photography, the author glimpsed a small part of that universe: the characteristics of the different groups, the singularities of their life cycles and some surprising strategies that make them true artists of survival. In addition, it includes additional background information on myths, legends, quotes from thinkers, and observations, which will help the reader to get to know these colourful insects in a broader way, not only involving biology but also visual and experiential perspectives. The book consists of two parts, bound back-to-back as a flip book that can be read from either end.

Este libro acerca una mirada sobre las mariposas diurnas y nocturnas de la Argentina, seres que, a lo largo del tiempo, se diversificaron en grupos adoptando formas y estilos de vida diferentes. Mediante una prolongada investigación, a través de la observación y la fotografía, el autor vislumbró una pequeña parte de ese universo: las características de los distintos grupos, las singularidades de sus ciclos de vida y algunas estrategias sorprendentes que las convierte en verdaderas artistas de la supervivencia. Además, incluye datos de color, como mitos, leyendas, citas de pensadores y observaciones, que ayudarán a conocer de una forma más profunda y amplia a estos coloridos insectos, no solamente desde su biología, sino también, desde perspectivas visuales y vivenciales.
