Pierik It was an excellent idea of the publisher to ask the authors to revise and update their first edition and now the latter has a high quality... The authors have not forgotten to pay particular attention to new developments in somatic embryogenesis, industrial and agricultural applications of in vitro culture, variant selection, production of secondary metabolites, genetic engineering application of bioreactors, and fermetor techniques... It is remarkable that the two authors were able to assimilate so much new literature and to incorporate it into this wonderful handbook... In my opinion this book belongs certainly to the three best handooks in the field of in vitro culture of higher plants. Scienta Horticulturae
