About this book

Language: Spanish with scientific nomenclature

Volumes in the Flora Iberica series are essentially ordered to facilitate the identification of native or naturalized vascular plants in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. This new volume of the Flora Iberica is the second volume in the treatment of the Gramineae (Poaceae) or grasses family. The book includes complete descriptions of the family, its genera and species as well as dichotomous keys for the determination of taxa. The descriptions including morphological features, geographical distribution and biological details. Many of the entries are accompanied by illustrations. The book is the result of work undertaken by many botanists, under the coordination for many years of the director of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, Santiago Castroviejo. Page numbering follows on from volume 1.
