About this book

Language: German

Due to its natural features, Bavaria is the German federal state with the largest number of ferns and flowering plants. In the Flora von Bayern, all 6000 plants historically and currently documented in Bavaria are documented for the first time. Species, subspecies, varieties and natural hybrids, indigenous plants as well as spontaneous and established neophytes are taken into account. All indigenous species and established neophytes are briefly described with their diagnostic characteristics, including information on their place of growth and habitat, distribution in Bavaria, endangerment and protection. Almost all of the species described are accompanied by a distribution map with historical and current data on their discovery. Remarkable, rare or important species for Bavaria are also illustrated using colour photos. Particular emphasis is also placed on critical genera and species groups that are difficult to identify.

Please note that this 4-volume set weighs in at 13.2 kg.
