About this book

The major part of the 2016 report is taken up with the Systematic list, covering the 254 species recorded in the county during the year. The book also contains regular papers including the Review of the Year and the Ringing Report and various appendices.

There are three main papers, covering the Firecrest in Hampshire, the Hobby in Hampshire and the Last stonghold of the Willow Tit in Hampshire. There are short papers reporting on the county's first Alpine Accentor, Pallid Harrier, Chinese Pond Heron (also a country first) and the distinctive race of Siberian Stonechat known as Caspian Stonechat. There are also three short Notes on "Selborne" the satellite tagged Cuckoo, raft nesting Common Terns at Blashford Lakes and the Hampshire Swift Group.
