He has edited the Irish Bird Report and is managing editor of Wings, the magazine of BirdWatch Ireland. He is also project manager of the 90-acre East Coast Nature Reserve at Newcastle, County Wicklow.

Jim Wilson, from County Cork, is a wildlife writer, broadcaster, tour guide and former chairman of BirdWatch Ireland. His books include Shorebirds of Ireland (2009), Freshwater Birds of Ireland (2011) and The Birds of Ireland: A Field Guide (2013).
