About this book

Language: English

The Western Hajar Mountains of northern Oman are botanically rich, with a variety of interesting and beautiful native plant species. Photographic Field Guide to the Plants of the Western Hajar Mountains, Sultanate of Oman with a Complete Checklist of Vascular Plant Species specifically contains the main plant species found from 1500 to 3000 m altitude. It includes 114 plant species, representing 37% of the regional flora of the Western Hajar Mountains. The most common and characteristic plant species are included, but some rare plants are also included due to their distinctive characteristics. The book also includes a comprehensive checklist of all the vascular plant species that occur in the Western Hajar Mountains above 1500 m in altitude. A glossary of botanical terms, indexes of scientific and vernacular names and a bibliography are also included. The intent of this book is to provide a compact, attractive, comprehensive and up-to-date book about the plants of the Western Hajar Mountains for amateur outdoor enthusiasts and those with more specialized knowledge. Photographs enable easy identification while acting as a convenient reference.
