This atlas focuses on molluscs and their habitats in the Dutch waters of the North Sea. It contains information on biology, diet, reproduction and biotopes of more than 250 species found here.

Onder het zeeoppervlak gaat een grote variatie aan leefgebieden schuil, waarin elke diersoort zijn eigen specifieke plek heeft. Dat geldt niet alleen voor tropische koraalriffen, maar ook voor onze 'eigen' zoute en brakke wateren: de Noordzee, de Deltawateren en de Waddenzee. In deze atlas staan levende weekdieren (slakken, schelpdieren, inktvissen, etc.) en hun leefgebied centraal. Zo wordt er bijvoorbeeld informatie gegeven over leefwijze, voedsel, voortplanting en biotoop van de meer dan 250 soorten die in de Nederlandse wateren leven.
