Biography

Dr Neloy Khare is a scientific adviser to the Government of India at MoES. His research areas cover locations including the Antarctic, Arctic, and global oceans. He has 30 years of experience in palaeoclimate research. He completed his doctorate on tropical marine regions and Doctor of Science on Southern High latitude marine regions towards environmental/climatic implications. Dr Khare was granted Honorary and Adjunct Professorships by several Indian Universities. He has published 121 research articles in national and international scientific journals; edited 3 special issues of national scientific journals; edited a special issue of Polar Science, authored/edited many books, contributed 130 abstracts to various seminars; and wrote 23 popular science articles. He has been awarded for his scientific contributions including the Rajiv Gandhi National Award – 2013. Dr Khare has sailed the Arctic Ocean as a part of “Science PUB” in 2008 and became the first Indian to sail the Arctic Ocean.

Dr Rajni Khare completed her Masters in Zoology at Gujarat University and her PhD in Limnology and Environmental Sciences at Barkattulah University Bhopal. Her research interests lie in understanding various water bodies for their physico-chemical and biological content and the anthropogenic impacts on them, including water bodies of extreme climatic conditions of the Antarctic. She has many international and national publications to her credit.
