This book presents an updated identification key to the hopper fauna of Britain and Ireland, comprising altogether 401 species, based on new checklists for the two countries. It is closely linked to the basic work Planthoppers and Leafhoppers of Germany.
Richly-illustrated dichotomous keys lead to 9 families, 11 subfamilies of the Cicadellidae and all 174 genera. More than 75% of the species are illustrated by habitus drawings. Those 19 species which are not found in Germany are fully treated and illustrated.
