About this book

This second edition updates the first edition that was published in 1987 with an additional 40 pages. It is a complete study of the genus Tillandsia, detailing 61 species and 78 hybrids. The Bromeliads are found in forests, mountains, and deserts, of Central and South America, Mexico, and the southern United States in North America. They are nick-named "air plants" as the roots are used as anchors only. They are epiphytes that need no soil; water and nutrients are absorbed through the leaves.
