More than 240 different native wildflowers plus 20 introduced species are featured with over 400 colour photographs, identification notes and a locality guide.

The main focus is on the higher peaks and plains of what is referred to as 'The High Country'; being that area of seasonally snow-clad ranges, mountain peaks and snow plains flanking the Great Dividing Range of Eastern Victoria and Southern New South Wales including: Kosciuszko National Park, Bogong High Plains, Mount Buffalo, Mount Buller, Mount Hotham, Snowy Range, Dargo High Plains, Lake Mountain, Mount Baw Baw.

The vast majority of the wildflowers were photographed within a few metres of main access roads or beside short and easy walking tracks.
