About this book

The Northern Forest Region lies between the oak forests of the eastern United States and the boreal forests of eastern Canada. It is, collectively, one of the largest and most continuous temperate forests left in the world and, like much of the biosphere, it is at risk.

The Quick Guide for Woody Plants of the Northern Forest contains two double-sided photographic fold-out charts. The summer chart shows the leaves of over 200 deciduous trees, shrubs, vines, and creepers of the Northern Forest. The winter chart shows the buds of about 185 deciduous trees and shrubs. The map-sized folding charts are water-resistant and field-friendly, the perfect companion to Woody Plants of the Northern Forest: A Photographic Guide. This product was made in collaboration with the Northern Forest Atlas Foundation and the Wildlife Conservation Society Adirondack Program.
