About this book

This new handbook draws on an EU-wide project (Cost-33) which over the last four years has collected the expertise of more than 80 professionals and academics, from 24 countries in Europe, on forest recreation and nature tourism research, planning and management. It will bring together the most up to date, state of the art knowledge and make it available to policy makers, planners, managers and students. This topic has been badly in need of synthesis and analysis, as current practice is very diffuse. The book invites learning from shared experience and is both a handbook for policy makers, planners and managers but also a major resource for students of forestry, countryside management, landscape architecture, recreation planning and tourism development and management.
