The author spent time at the Musée Royal de l'Afrique Centrale, Tervuren, Belgium, during the spring of 1965 to work out the Tineid moths preserved in the Collection of Lepidoptera. He studied about 1500 specimens and made almost 400 slides of genital preparations. In this monograph he lists 31 genera and 91 species. Of these, 4 genera and 48 species are described as new.
