This work was done with the intention of showing the experts and laymen a broader approach to the study of social insects, the different topics include the use of growth regulators for the control of mosquitoes and the diversity of sandflies, and the clearance and urbanization of leishmaniasis in the state of Amazonas. Thus, the authors pooled the results of research of the scientific work being produced in the form of dissertations or theses, by post-graduate students of the entomology course of the Institute and by researchers from INPA.

A presente obra foi feita com a intenção de mostrar aos especialistas e leigos uma abordagem mais ampla sobre os estudos dos insetos sociais, os diferentes tópicos dos reguladores de crescimento para o controle de mosquitos vetores e a diversidade de flebotomíneos,e a domiciliação e a urbanização da leishmaniose no estado do Amazonas. Dessa forma, os autores reuniram os resultados das pesquisas dos trabalhos científicos que estão sendo elaborados na forma de dissertações ou teses, pelos alunos de pós-graduando do curso de Entomologia do Instituto e pesquisadores do INPA.
