About this book

Language: Chinese with scientific nomenclature

Study on the Taxonomy of the Diogenidae From China Seas includes three parts. The first part is a general introduction to diogenid crustacea, a family of hermit crabs, including their systematic position, morphological characters, habitats and distribution, brief research history and economic significance. The second part contains systematic descriptions of Chinese diogenid speces, in which 83 species, belonging to 8 genera, are described. Keys to genera of Diogenidae, and to species of genera are given. The description of species includes its synonymy, material examined, diagnosis, distribution and illustration, and, for 65 species, photographs of specimens are provided. The third part is a preliminary study on distribution characteristics.
