This account, originally published in The Journal of the Linnean Society in 1914, represents a record of the observations made and studies into the flora of British North Borneo (now the Malaysian state of Sabah) conducted by Lilian Gibbs in 1909-1910. In particular, the catalogue of plants presented in her papers became important reference points for the flora of Borneo, especially of Mount Kinabalu, one of the most biologically rich localities now known.
