About this book

Language: French

The Causses region in the south of the Massif Central of France offers a rich palette of grandiose landscapes, deeply marked by ancestral agropastoralism but also by the mineral character of its spaces, essentially limestone or dolomitic. This shows in the form of cliffs, cornices, rocks, rockeries, blockfields, scree slopes, old dry stone walls and gravel along the banks of the river. Despite difficult habitat conditions for living beings, a rich and diversified flora, which can be described as “extreme flora”, has adapted and expressed itself in these very particular environments. With this abundantly illustrated book, Christian invites us to share his passion and enthusiasm for this rich landscape and remarkable but fragile floral heritage which should be better understood and preserved.
