A total of 235 species of the gastropod family Muriciday belonging to nine subfamilies and 54 genera are introduced and described in this volume. Among them, eight species are recorded in China for the first time. This volume is divided into two parts. Part one is a comprehensive survey, dealing with the review of research history, morphology, systematic description, geographical distribution, biology and economic value of the family. Part two is a systematic description, and presents a detailed account of morphological features, biological characteristics, geographical distribution and economic values of each species. The scientific names for a few species are discussed and revised, and keys to all the taxonomic categories are presented.
