The species of Vitaceae from Ecuador are revised. Only two genera occur in this country. Nineteen species of Cissus and one species of Vitis are represented in Ecuadorian collections and another two species of Cissus are considered likely to occur, based on their occurrence in adjacent parts of Peru and Colombia. All taxa are described, keys and specimen citations are given for all species and eight species are illustrated.
