In this book, the authors give a brief historical overview of mine sites and mineralization outcrops distributed in various areas of the Peloritani, a mountain range of north-eastern Sicily, Italy, where, given the current inactivity of exploitation, the passage of time would inevitably erase all traces. They also map the distribution of gold, silver and tungsten in the territories of many of the geological units in the Mount Peloritans.

Nel presente volume, gli Autori, dopo un breve excursus storico, riportano le ubicazioni dei siti minerari e degli affioramenti delle mineralizzazioni distribuite nei vari territori, considerando che, data l’attuale inattività di sfruttamento, il trascorrere del tempo ne avrebbe inevitabilmente cancellato ogni traccia. Gli stessi presentano inoltre, i risultati delle loro ricerche che hanno portato, anche a considerazioni minerogenetiche, come nel caso della determinazione dei contenuti di ferro nelle sphaleriti. Per ultimo, viene definita la distribuzione di oro, argento e tungsteno nei territori di molte delle Unità geologiche che costituiscono i Monti Peloritani.
